Hi all
I'm adding an aftermarket amp to my factory 4.2" sync radio. The amp I have has the speaker level inputs but they aren't auto sensing to switch the amp on and off. I'm trying to find the best way to wire the remote turn on lead. I know they made a kicker add-on sub kit that wired in somehow. Is there a factory lead or do I need to rig it to a different switch 12v source? Thanks in advance.

You can use the accessory circuit to turn the amp on.

Won't this turn the amp on and off with the key? Is there a way to wire it to the radio? Maybe an antenna power wire? I just don't have a wiring diagram to find the colors.

Pin 18 in the 26 pin connector on the back of the radio. 4.2 LCD sync system

I have three amps and turn them on with toggle switches because I don't want to power up 9600 watts at one time. I believe the easiest way is to either run a wire from your battery or pick up a 12 volt wire in the cab of your truck. The easiest would be to use a wire from the cigarette lighter and toggle it.

In the fuse box, under the hood, is a fuse and relay for the trailer battery charging circuit which is key switched. It is a 10 or 12 Awg Orange wire. It runs along the drivers frame rail and ends in a multi connector under the bed near the rear bumper.

Sorry to bump my old post but I wanted to thank everyone for their help. I haven't set up anything permanent yet. For now I'm using a High input to low input converter that has an amp turn on lead. It's not ideal but will do for now.

I just ran into this on a install its the amps ur using not the loc or remote wires. I tried a kicker amp no good, arc no good, but i used an
Avionixx (axa 740) and a (axa 2200) and it works good.
