So I'm stumped on my TMA T1000.1 car amp i bought on offer up last month. When i hook speakers up to it (2) MEMPHIS 15-M510D4 @ 1 OHM LOAD it's driving my woofers Hella hard but i assume that there is some sort of distortion going on so i want to at least tune my amp gain to my deck using a digital multi meter so i in theory don't blow my subs or amp.

Ac voltage i believe should be read by setting my dmm to 200 on the AC Voltage setting Then positive to positive and negative to negative.... Correct??

Readings on my 12v+ read 12.60v ; turn on at 11.50v. The ohm load from the amps ground (-) to the batterys (-) terminal on the amp read 0.03 ohms resistance.

As of now i need to reground my stereo since its resistance on the ground read 0.09 ohms

I hope someone can read this and go hey dummy this is what your doing wrong. Thanks.

To tune your amp you would need an Oscope. This will allow you to see what the signal going into the amp looks like as well as what the signal leaving your amp looks like.

Amplifier output is AC volts, not DC.

I think rnthomas2 said he was using AC setting. It doesn't matter which way round the probes are though. The red and black +/- on amp outputs refers to phase, not polarity.

I added a relay to my amp, kicker 30 band eq, and mtx 3 way crossover and now its showing a voltage on AC. Turns out the remote wire on my deck wasnt fully turning on my amp i guess....

New problem. My subs sometimes after slappin hella hard start to screech. After my system is turned off and back on from the deck the noise is gone.

Checked inside subs and no signs of faulty wiring and outside of box is the same. Not sure why....maybe capacitors on am p are going out?

Also no clipping signal being shown on my kickers 30 band eq for the power output. Did the set up bythe books for initial set up of my equalizer

Could it be my relay? I got it out of a stereo shop trash can. Tested it and seems fine though
