What are some reasons for volume loss? My system was moved to another car and it seemed I had a little drop in volume but when a second amp was added for the subs its like lower than stock quality now. Seems I've had to lower the gains since which resulted in less volume too. What are all the things I should check?
are all youre speakers ran off of amps and none from the head unit if so i would probably check your battery and alternator output and possibly add a capp to your systym (if you don't already have one) otherwise you might give a list of what you have (including what size power & ground your running)so someone might make a more informed reply..J

the inside of you car is not the same as your old car is it? it will not be the same if your in a bigger car the sound is not as compressed. a smaller car should compress it. if you get what i'm saying. I had 2 15s in my bronco with 190w rms to each one. it was loud and sounded good. a buddy wanted to buy them so i sold them to him. he installed the subs amp and box in a UD tow truck and it has a small cab compaired to my bronco and the subs were a ton louder. this may not be your trouble but it some thing to think about. as far as the other amp goes sounds like its hooked up wrong double check your wires. and grounds i would not buy a cap. i'd get a bigger alt and better battery . then get the cap if you want it.

if 1 speaker is out u will loose your bass and qaulity
I went from a 92 escort to a 2002 zx2. I have 4ga from the battery (fused) to a dist block, 8ga from that to coustic amp and American Legacy amp (i know but it works) 8ga for grounds to same spot sanded, one rca out to coustic 4ch amp with Y's and from coustic out to AL amp input. After all this time and heartache I found that the amp I got ripped on because I didn't know any better then is no good. In a few months I will have had it two years now. It has been deteriorating worse ever since and I didn't know it was that. I had to constantly adjust the gains and when I thought it was right a few days later it would be wrong again. I always thought I had a problem with the new speakers I got at the same time and I was constantly going back to them and complaining it didn't sound right and they of course thought it was fine. So now the warranty is up. I found out last night when I hooked my fronts to the amp I was using for the subs and I put the subs on the coustic amp that is now know to be no good. That amp actually plays my subs really well though it is not loud enough. Does anyone know if this is something that can be fixed easily? Probably not worth sending out since I've seen one go for $20 on ebay. I think it is the QE320. Please any ideas?
