Subject: Wiring diagram for Pioneer DEH-53

I'm trying to replace my stock Ford stereo with a Pioneer DEH-53 HU in my 1995 Mercury Mystique. I bought a wiring harness, which has all of the wires nicely labeled, but since someone gave me the Pioneer unit, I don't have an owners manual for it. Since the wires from the Pioneer don't match the colors of the wiring harness, I can't figure out how to wire the Pioneer to the harness. I've searched high and low on the web for a diagram for this model, but I've come up empty. Anyone know how I can get this information for the DEH-53?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is that the correct model number?  Is it a "premier" model?  because I'm registered with pioneers website and have access to owners manuals and installation manuals.  So if  you can get the right number then i can probably obtain the right manual for you.

Better yet, register at www.pioneerelectronics.com and you'll have access to all the manuals.

I don't believe it's a premium unit. I've already registered on the Pioneer site, but DEH-53 is not in the list of available manuals. I thought maybe they just don't make it available anymore. The manufacture date on the unit is 1997. The model number is on a sticker on the bottom of the unit, and also on the removable faceplate. Both simply say DEH-53, and there's nothing else on the unit that makes me think there should be more to this number. I'm going email Pioneer from their website and see if they can clear it up for me. I'll update this thread again if/when they respond.

Thanks for the quick response.
