Has anyone done a line converter to add subs or does anyone know of a way to get the signal out of radio without splicing in ??

Depending on the harness plug, Metra offers a 70- series plug for going into the car harness and a 71- series plug for going into factory radio's and with these two proper plugs you could make your own "Y" cable adaptor with plugs. I would go to the metraonline.com site and see what they offer for your year, make, and model. If they only show a 70- series plug, but not a 71- series, maybe do a google search as sometimes they do offer it but it's not shown on their site for some reason.
Normally when I added a line out for a sub, I would use the front outputs that way the rear speakers could be brought down in volume to help have what they called a better front stage with the music in front of you.
