2010 gmc 1500, hardwire headunit

Is it at all possible to " hardwire" a head unit . All hooked up and have no speedometer.

you can hard wire a radio no problem. Down fall is that truck has the data bus system so there is no switched wire at the deck so you have to get that some where else, ignition harness, rap wire for the power window, ect. On newer vehicle id just yourself the head ache and time (especially if it has bose)and buy the more expensive harness and keep everything running like it should be. Radio should have nothing to do with speedometer. Id check the fuses for that one.

Coincidence doesn't happen as often as people would like. If the problem only happened after the install, then it is the fault of the install. It's likely that you have either connected into a wire that you shouldn't have or shorted one or more. I would suggest disconnect your install and recheck the speedometer. There is a reason why techs recommend using the correct installation parts for installing components. There are data wires in the truck if tampered with can cause a host of problems.

Is there a dark green wire with a white stripe? Is it connected to anything? If so, disconnect it.

Ive had that probkem when a module goes bad im sure you are tied into a data wire
