Inverted subs in a bandpass enclosure?

I am pretty sure this is a pretty stupid question, but anyway here goes. I am a total car audio novice and just recently bought two new planet audio 12 inch subs and a dual brand bandpass enclosure off of someone in my neighborhood. I know dual isnt the best brand for subs, but the box itself is solid and doesnt look bad at all. Anyway, since bandpass is a combination of both ported and sealed will it yield better bass if i mount the subs into the box inverted, or do subs in a bandpass need to be mounted normally for better bass? Thanks.
