I have a question about wiring in a different formation. Would it work to wire 1 channel to both the 3 " in mono and 3 channels to the 6.5" in mono? Concerned that the 3" might receive too much power from the amp.
I've never done that before. If not, what would be a good hookup for this? Thanks for the advice!
I have
(2) Poly-Planar 3-Inch Frequency Response: 70Hz to 20KHz (Single cone) SPL: 83dB Peak Power: 60W per speaker Continuous Power: 30W RMS/speaker Speaker Impedance: 4 OHMS
AND
(2) Krypt 6.5" HLCD speakers Model Krypt 6.5” HLCD Nominal Diameter 6.5 inch Nominal Impedance 4 ohm RMS Power 150 Watts Peak Power 300 Watts

Can you draw out your proposed connections. The post is not clear enough for a response.

"In Mono" defeats any chance of stereo separation.

I guess it would help if you knew the amp, sorry bout that. It's a BOSS Audio MC900B 500 Watt, 4 Channel. I'll draw up a diagram of how I'm envisioning it. This is on a jetski so stereo doesn't matter much.

Here is a diagram that I am pondering. This is purely my thinking that it will. Keep the 3" safe and give more power to the 6.5" HLCD's

Just wire it standard 1 channel per speaker, then turn the gains down on the set ( front or rear ) that you've used for your smaller speakers. KISS ( keep it simple )

Do not wire as in that diagram unless you wish to fry the amp. ------------- Support the12volt.com
