I'm gonna buy an mp3 head unit, and i know it's not the best, but i have a good connection to get Sony decks for good prices.  I'm thinking either the CDX-MP70 or the CDX-M850MP, i like the features and the price, but i can't decide between them....  any opinions?

anybody have either of them or know anything about them?

My opinion of Sony is to try another brand.  I've had 2 sony head unit in my car and they were both crap.  The sound was not as clear  and they skipped alot.  The last one i had (which thankfully was stolen outta my car) liked to "keep" my CDs and i had to bang on my dash to get it to eject.  I would recommend Apline's CDA-9813 or spend the extra money and get Blaupunkt's new Los Angeles model.

Funny I JUST answered this question a couple days ago..I've not had many problems with Sony head units, but if I had to pick I'd rather go for a Pioneer;  that's just my personal preference when it comes to head units.  But I can understand it when people can get stuff at big discounts....I'd recommend getting the M850MP  First off I think it just flat out looks SO much better than the MP70.  It also costs less and has more features.  I think the MP70 is WAY overpriced.  All it gives you is that silly gshock protection and CD tray, both of which are really unnecessary in my experience.

One thing to remember though...the M850MP does not have a detatchable faceplate and for some people that is a must.  It does however have the camouflaging one which is usually somewhat effective.  I always say if you have a $350 head unit in your car you should have an alarm system in it anyways!posted_image
