I've been install stereo for sometime now.. im not a pro at it.Computers is really my thing. but im good compared to someothers.. Any. im trying to install the double-din in my dash so i can have my dvd player and flipout screen right up front.. does anyone know if i need a special harness or like a splitter or can i just splice the wires to the head unit one. Thanks in advance.
you would be better off buying a wiring kit so it will plug directly to the factory harness. and give you all the colors you need. to match up to your radio. then for power ground for dvd player just splice them into the wires going to the after market radio harness, give them there own fuse.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
Here's my suggestion for you. The flip out monitor will not work that great in the OEM location because of the radio location is inset into the dash and when the monitor flips up the screen will not flip up all the way up because the lip ( below the vent controls ) gets in the way. If you install the monitor on the bottom, then you don't have enough room to get past the shifter when it comes out of the deck.
Here's what I did, but it required custom installation of the monitor and fiberglass. This year I am installing 3 DIN sized units into the OEM location where the single DVD player used to be in the picture above.
