Ok on the Sound Solutions Audio (SSA) website they have these things made by SBC (I think) called "cook Box"-es and they are basically RCA multipliers, for lack of a better term this early on a Monday morning. It's essentially a Y splitter that takes one pair of RCA cables and turns it into 2, 4, 5, 10, 12, 16 etc. RCA female out jacks. I can't see there being so much technology there that one splitter should cost ANYWHERE NEAR what they are charging for them so I am trying to figure out exactly what they have there so I could in turn make one of my own if I needed to.
So if My Alpine head unit puts out 5v (not positive so I'm just using a number here) to the RCA's what is needed to split that signal and get a good 5v on the back end that is constant across all legs of this circuit. Please chime in and spitball this thing with me. Low voltage RCA out is one of those things I've never tried much to understand mostly because I haven't had to. You know, it comes out of the head unit and goes to amp and as long as it's got a good ground and you use decent cables all is typically well. I am just not getting a good split sometimes when using Y splitters so after the first one I had gave me trouble I've been second guessing every one I get! Thanks in advance for the help guys and LONG LIVE THE 12V!!!!

Good grief, you mean "cook box".
They are simple parallel connected gold-plated jacks in a box.
Good product, for what it is, but way over-priced.

For that much money, the outputs should all be buffered and isolated by internal amps and have individual gain controls.

Definitely a hugely profitable item.

Edit: Seems that this web site won't accept a word like "cook" but with an "o" replaced by a "c".
What do they have against roosters?

Yeah I was of the same opinion. I mean what is this if not just a large container for nothing more than a y splitter? Am I right?! I mean if it's not tell me now because I'm thinking that if it's that easy to make and sell something I'm in the wrong business. I'd like to take one apart and see if you actually get $5 worth of raw materials there.

If you inspect the ad and the pictures, you will not find any mention of power requirements or audio input or output levels. There are no visible fuse holders, wires, or power jacks.

That's the thing though, I haven't seen any other information on these. This is where you can apparently buy them but as far as specs there are none. Like you're saying (if there are no specs to go with this) then obviously there is nothing more to this than a box with multiple Y-Splitters inside it that is not only WAY overpriced but RAPING YOU IN THE FACE WITH NO LUBE overpriced!!!
I'd respect these guys if they priced this accordingly OR just made up a set of plans for it and sold them for $5. Now with this it just makes me want to find out who the manufacturer is and NEVER EVER buy anything from them and make sure anyone that I knows EVER buys anything from them. To me that's like the $5,000 Epi Pen deal or whatever it was... You know, the pharmaceutical companies raping parents for a medicine that literally can save a childs life basically because they can! Total BS
