I have a 2003 Pontiac grand am gt .

I bought the interface so I can switch out he gactory head unit .

I don’t plan on using any factory speakers or the amp .

On the interface there is a 12 volt remote input so I need to hook that up or not ?

I assume you mean a 12V remote "output".
It would need to be connected to enable remote turn-on of an amplifier or the car's antenna amplifier (if so equipped).
