First off I'm new to the site as a member. But idk if this was asked before. But I have some 6 1/2 three way speakers and some 1" bullet tweeters. I was seeing if I should put the tweeters on there own amp or will they be fine on the same amp as my 6 1/2s??

Share the amp but use a high pass filter with your bullet tweeters.

Why in the world do tweeters require an amplifier to begin with? A 1/2 inch tweet should? work with 20 watts. Why are they calling for 50+?

It is minuscule and has no noticeable movement.

A high pass filter will allow only the high frequencies to drive the tweeter basically blocking the lows from trying to drive the tweeter (and causing wasted power and distortion).

Oh you mean like on the amp, use the high pass filter on it. I use that anyways on my highs.

My specialist said the impedance is negligible.

Do they still make bass blockers?

2.5-5k may help with sound and safety.

Can you provide more information about the amp you are going to use? Personally, I would skip the tweeters if you have 3-way 6.5s. Thats a lot of highs and not a lot of lows which will end up making your music sound too "bright", like getting stabbed in the ears.

I'm actually switching out my 6.5 3ways for 6.5 midrange. And right now I'm running a Jensen 750.4 amp on the 3ways and tweeters. Had it laying around.

Tweeters always require a crossover. There are crossover guides on this site. You should use a high pass crossover set at approximately 2x the fs of the tweeter.
