Hi. I was wondering if there was a way to wire a radio to stay on during cranking. Could a pac tr7 be wired I for this application? Thank you for any help

If your car has a switched power lead at the radio, you could connect it to ignition instead of accessory.
However, many newer vehicles no longer have a switched lead at the radio and are controlled by the CAN bus system (data signal). It may be possible to use a Raspberry Pi or Arduino to "sniff out a signal" so you can replicate it, but that's left for someone much smarter than me. I'd just leave it alone.

Im not lucky enough to have a newer vehicle. But I'll meter my ignition wires tomorrow morning. Thanks. Hope they stay 12v through cranking

Depending on the current drawn through the accessory lead of the radio, a diode in series and a capacitor in parallel to ground after
the diode will keep the radio powered during cranking. The value of the capacitor can vary, 1000uF would be a starting point.

Any newer radio will have virtually no current draw on the red wire. I am betting a 1000 microfarad capacitor will keep it on through a start cycle. Get a 3 amp diode and the 1000 mic 35 or greater volt capacitor and I will find you a diagram for the above mentioned solution.
