I have a 2014 Ford F-150 XLT with the factory radio/sync/4.2" lcd. I'm trying to find a location to connect the remote turn on lead that doesn't have the accessory voltage retention. I've tried every "not used" fuse location in the passenger kick panel but since the accessory voltage relay is right in the middle of the fuse panel I'm assuming all those are going to retain voltage for the factory 10 minutes. If this is the only option will those 10 minutes have an impact on the battery when the radio isn't playing? I live in an area where then winters get cold and I don't want to kill the battery prematurely. Any info is welcome.

Thank you
John

With the key off, don't the accessories lose power as soon as you open the door? If so, then you're not drawing power for an extra 10 minutes.

The doors were open while I was testing and the radio shut off instantly when I turn the key off but did retain power. Maybe I need to have the doors shut and open them as part of the test. I guess I'll redo the tests.

Well the "not used fuses" in the kick panel don't shut off when the door is opened or after 10 min or any short period of time. May have to go a different route.

It sounds like those are constant power, not accessory. Why not check the ignition harness?

Solder, tape, repeat!

Thank you both. I just tapped into the Accessory wire that the remote start was using. Plus I had to clean up the remote start mess. Whoever put that in didn't care where it all fell.
