I hooked up my subs (Dual Sony XS-L121P5) and my amp (Sony XM-2200GTX), but the amp protection mode red light came on and no power to the subs. Unhooked the subs speaker wiring and RCA cables from the amp, leaving just the power, ground, and RMS wires connected and placed the other ends on the appropriate battery terminals and got a green light...so the amp is good but on one of the wire terminals on one of the subs is missing a power clip/clamp. I've already ordered a set of new terminals but could this be the issue of my red light or no power to the subs or are the subs bad ? How can I troubleshoot this ?

Do you have a multimeter? Do you have a 9 volt battery?
