When running the remote lead to 2 amps do I need to use a relay or can I splice it and run it to each amp.

Most headunits can handle the load of 2 remote leads with just using a splice. Any more than that and you would want to look into a relay.

If I got you, you want to to connect 2 remote wires to the wire in your head unit. I agree with vwsquirrel, the stereo can take it. Here is another option: you can run one wire from your HU to one amp, and a second wire from this amp to the other. It's the same load capability situation, and you should have no problem  (and is easier). Most user manuals don't specify this, but a few others do (like my fav one, Nak)
