Hello, I have a 98 Buick Park Ave. factory head unit with factory 9 speaker set up. Hooked up a Line output converter to rear speakers. I have 3-12” SVC 4ohm powerbass subs Rms/Max250/500wattsin a sealed box. Subs came with a Profile California Ap1200 amp Rms 2 x 200w @4ohm or 2 x 300w @2ohm. I also just purchased a Fosgate punch p300.1 mono   2ohm 300w x1 or 4ohm 150x1. I feel like the punch should deliver more power than the Profile or could I use both some sort of way.. thanks in advance.
Scott

posted_image From what I understand you have the sub confugered in the picture. You would need an amplifier that can handle down to the 1 ohm impedance.

Thx for the reply. I’ve tried setting it up a few ways.First in series 12ohm load with both amps then next I set it up where + to left sub and - to right sub then same + & - to Center sub and a bridged wire Lsub- to Rsub+ 2.7 ohm load. Most recently I installed a JVC HU and got rid of LOC. Now I have the profile ap1200 running a set of Boss 6x9’s and alpine 5 1/2 and the punch to the 3-subs. Not sure about the ohms on this but I just took all 3 pos from subs to pos on amp and same with neg. the punch is 2 ohm but the speakers are 4. Is this ok? No problems yet but I haven’t been driving it a lot lately. I’m thinking about selling the amp and subs and just starting over and matching correctly this time. I jumped into this build way to fast! The game has changed a lot since 90’s!thanks again for the input.

You have them in parallel as suggested above, and that amp is not stable at 1 ohm. See here:

that is the exact picture i posted above, The final resistance in ohms of the 3 subs wired in parallel is 1 ohm. The amp needs to be 1ohm stable. The subs will be ok, the amp may overheat and thermal shut down.     Can you please post exact which model of amp you are using on the subs, Is it a Punch amp, but which model??
It may be stable down to 1 ohm .

The California amplifier is 4 ohm mono stable. Do not even attempt to run it at 1.33 ohms.

The profile is hooked to rear 6x9’s and rear door 5 1/4”s. The punch300 does a nice job pushing the 3 subs by itself. What would it be if I had the 3 subs connected together inside the box internally to 1 terminal, then connecting 1 speaker wire from the amp to that terminal? And 1 last question... advise on tuning both amps? I would love to buy a SMD distortion detector but funds are depleted this month. Is there an alternative?    Simple and easy. I wish there was a app that had a 1on1 tech help or something in real time. Thx again.
