I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty and one of my pet peeves is that it kills power to the radio when starting the engine to save power for the starter. I’ve seen people add capacitors across the constant/acc wire with a diode to keep the radio on just a bit longer while the cap discharges.

I’m wondering if it would work instead to keep the radio acc wire attached normally with an added diode, and then run another wire to the radio acc with a diode from the fuel pump fuse to keep the radio powered while the engine is starting. My thinking is that the 2 diodes would prevent both 12v signals separated before they hit the radio. Would it be a problem for the radio if it’s receiving 2 separate 12v signals at the same time while running?

That will work just fine. Or, Ignition      pink/white      +      Sentry Key Module on ignition switch, black 8 pin plug, pin 3
