Subject: Specs And/Or Opinions on Image Dynamics XS-28 Tweeters?

I'm getting ready to order the most expensive tweeters I've ever purchased, the Image Dynamics XS-28's. Of the 45 different 1" tweeters I've compared specs with, these seem to be the ONLY ones made in America and with the highest power handling. But speaking of power handling, this leads me to a question:

These tweeters are rated at 100 watts RMS and 200 watts peak, but I can only find ONE website on all of Google searching that specifically states this is PER CHANNEL, but I find it hard to believe. I've never found any tweeter under $150 (or any price, really) that handles more than 75 watts RMS per channel, so it makes me believe this is actually 50 watts per channel and 100 watts total for the pair.

Not even Image Dynamics will answer my question as to the true power handling of these XS-28 tweeters, so I'm hoping someone in the forum has a pair or at least DID have a pair, and maybe are familiar with them and can tell me if this 100 watt rating is per channel or per pair.

One thing I can confirm about these tweeters, of ALL the online reviews I could find, this is the FIRST pair of tweeters I've seen 5 STAR REVIEWS for!

Anyone know the TRUE watts per channel on the XS-28's? ALSO, any idea of the cutout diameter of these? I can't find THAT info either!

Thanks much!

So none of the 23 people who viewed this post so far has any idea of their RMS rating? I'm still doubting it's PER CHANNEL, I'm thinking it's PER PAIR. Still only found one website that claims it's per channel, and I'd guess just so they are more likely to sell them at their $180 price! They're $90 on eBay!

The number of views is not necessarily the number of people who viewed your topic.

The tweeters are rated at 100 watts each. I haven’t listened to them, so no opinion one way or the other.

Oh, I thought it was how many people clicked in it. The number grows each time I'm in the forum.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was needing to know! I was worried because for the price, it would seem 100 watts for the pair would be not worth the price. The Cadence tweeters I just paid $22 for are 100 watts for the pair, so $90-180 wouldn't be worth the price.

I'm ordering them now! Not sure where you confirmed it, but I believe you!
