Hello all, it has been a LONG time since I posted here, but this seems like an appropriate place to ask this question!
I got a set of 4" Blaupunkt T-Line speakers off of eBay in 'fair" shape but the cones have come unglued from the surround. Nothing is torn or damaged, the surrounds are still soft. I would just get new ones, but these have long been discontinued and I have the rest of a matching full set that are brand new. These 4" guys are bing installed in a 1896 Toyota pickup dash and will be hidden enough that a perfect looking repair isn't a big concern. Waiting for the vintage headunit, so I haven't actually heard these speakers, but figure they will likely buzz.
They have VFP (Vacuum Formed Polypropylene) woofer cone with treated foam surround according to the Crutchfield specs listing here:

I paid about $30 shipped for them. So I don't want to spend $30 on some of the professional speaker repair glues out there. They are smell and going to be tricky to get to. The ideal glue from an application standpoint would be cyanoacrylate like the "Loctite Plastics Bonding System". I know cyano glue has a tendency to fog transparent plastics though. And while probably not going to be visible, I am also unsure how flexible it will be. Cyano likes to wick in and harden, so if it soaks into and hardens the foam surround, not good. I see mention of Aleene's Tacky Glue in some of the hi-fi audio forums. Looks like a better choice, but also looks like it will be a good bit harder to use in this instance.
Any other recommendations???
