What a great site this is...answered alot of my questions already. i just want to know if anyone has an installation diagram for a Sony cdx-m730 headunit.

The wire colors will be the same as EIA standards.  But what kind of vehicle is it going in to?

Hi! wow that was quick.. its going into my friends 92 ford Crown Victoria...that was going to be my next post...Thanks for the EAI standards. Hopefully we won't run into any different wires...Any help would be appreciated.

If the vehicle has the factory amplified system (not the JBL) then it needs this harness to do anaftermarket head unit.  If it does not have a factory amplified system it just uses the standard ford harness.  According to crutchfield, if you have "automatic" printed on the cassette slot then you have the amplified system.  If it's not there, you don't.

Of course as soon as you pull the radio out you can tell right away just by looking at the harnesses plugged in to it.  If there's two rectangular plugs (1 black and 1 grey) then it's the standard non amplified system.  If you have a single rectangular plug and then a little square connector that's the amplified system.

Also for the amplified system you have to bypass the amp that's in the trunk i believe.  That's what that third connector in the picture you see is for.
