I have a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo with a 6 disc CD changer. A few months ago I noticed when the disc carousel was turning a ticking noise was heard. The noise is still there but about 2 out of five times I get an error message as well. If I eject the disc and put it back in, it will play. I also have some discs that worked fine until this noise started. Now they are scratched badly and skip. I have some burned CD's in the carousel. Does this have anything to do with the problem? I don't want to break anything but I don't want to go to the dealer either. Don't like dealerships. If anybody knows I would appreciate some advice.

Thank you
Only thing for burned cds that I would suggest is to not use the sticky labels cuz some Oem cd players don't work well with them. I don't think that's your problem but it's something to keep in mind. Unfortunately I think your only options are to take it in to a dealer, or look at an aftermarket cd changer or cd player. It sounds like something is wrong internally with the unit, so a lens cleaner or anything like that won't help.

It sounds like you have a mechanical problem with the changer. I would suggest you contact some of the company listed below. They specialize in factory as well as aftermarket radio/ cd changer repair.
