I've got the same problem.  I'm using a Clarion Head Unit (2003 model) a PPI A600 and Kicker Solobaric.  My Cell phone cause's one hell of a hum out of my sub when it rings.  I've also noticed that my portable radio (motorola) for work causes the same thing when I transmit to coworkers.

Can anyone help us out?

That's something you have to deal with. Anything that transmits in close range to your system is going to interfere. It's not just interference with your car audio systems... next time your phone rings or you key up on your 2-way radio, hold it next to a radio/alarm clock, or tv, or anything else of the like. The only solution I do in my trucks and vans is to keep the phone at the farthest point from the system.

What kind of phone do you have? I noticed my Nextel (Motorola) I had was horrible for that. It would do it near any type of speakers. It was kinda funny because I could actually hear a noise in the speakers about a second before it would ring.

My AT&T Nokia doesn't seem to do it at all. Much nicer.
