How do I confirm a speaker to be in working condition?

Hook it up temporarily to the rar speaker wire if they are accessible in the vehicle. Just take the wires off the one speaker in the rear and attach a jumper wire for each terminal and play some music. Or if you have a home stereo, you can quickly hook up the two terminals to the amp and see if it plays.
