hazardous to an amplifier??

would anyone happen to know if there is a hazard (magnetic interference wise) to having an amplifier too close to a subwoofer? i right now have 3 1/2 inches from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the amp (sound funky, but it is an inverted mount) should there be any danger whatsoever as far as the electronics are concerned??

Not that I am aware of. Magnetic interference only affects data storage devices like Kenwood's Keg or something similar. I have never heard of a subwoofer magnet affecting the performance or adveresly affecting the quality of sound from an amplifier......... but that doesn't mean it hasn't happended to someone somewhere posted_image

Agreed, an amplifier only amplifies the signal it is receiving, it is not transferring, transmitting or changing data. If you would like to see something funny take a subwoofer close to a computer monitor or tube tv posted_image

to see what magnets can do to those things hehehe

the only damage the subs would do to the amp would be 'vibrating' it to death.

a good quality amp will withstand this abuse without any problems.

if your amp is under a baffle board like the old camaro/firebird cavity in the rear, the amp may overheat and shut off if there is not air movement.
