I am instaling new speakers in a friends 2000 GMC Jimmy. I know that the front 2 are 4x6, but what are the ones in the door and the back, i saw somewhere that they where 5 1/4s and another place said 6 1/2s. It does not have the bose system. Is there any amps built in. Would I just pop out the old speakers and put in the new ones?

The speakers in the rear doors are 6 ½’ If your only replacing the speakers then yes all you do is take the old ones out and put the new ones in

what if he wants a new head unit later on?
