I plan to replace a stock 8" sub in a 2002 Tahoe with a 10" sub and new amplifier.  I want to keep the cargo space and stock look so I plan to make the enslosure fit behind the stock plastic panel.  The panel has a speaker grille built into it that fits the 8" sub.

When I put the new 10" sub behind this panel will I need to cut out a bigger grille or can I just leave it as is?  I know this would matter if it was a midrange or tweeter but will it matter if it's a sub?

If I need to make the hole bigger do I just cut out a bigger hole and find a speaker grille that closely matches the color of the panel?

you can leave the hole the same size, I hope you are building a new enclosure for the 10 inch woofer and not using that stock Bose enclosure
