I'm putting my system back in the car.  The remote switch from the deck to the amp ground out and shorted.  Now the stereo wont come on.  I cannot locate a blown fuse.  Is it possible that I fried the deck.  Its a Sony ES Mobile (a passive deck) - is there a fuse somewhere for the steroe i cant locate?

This is a 1999 Mustang Cobra.

TIA!

Sometimes they put a fuse inline on some of the wires of the harness, but if you've checked those and no luck then it's quite likely you've cooked something.

First make sure the three essential wires--constant power, switched power, and ground, are all getting their proper multimeter readings.  Then once you've verified that, disconnect all the wires from the head unit and then connect just those 3 required wires, and see if it turns on with the key in the on position and you pressing the source button.
