I have a 300 watt jensen amp. My problem is the romote turn on.  Ok here goes, when I have it all connected and turn my receiver on the amp turns off. When I turn my receiver off the amp comes on?????????  What is the problem?????  I have inspected the amp, inside and out, but everything's fine.  my receiver is a pioneer, and the remote wire show's conductivity when the unit is on, and none when it is off. I bought the amp used and it worked great. Then I took it out of my car and put it in storage for a few months. Now I have this crazy problem.                        Thank's Jonafer

So when the radio is on the remote wire is getting + 12volt and with the radio off the remote wire has no voltage? And you verified this with a voltage meter?

This is a long shot, but maybe the problem is you have shorted the speaker outputs and the amp is going into protection mode.  So, when the remote power is on, the amp detects the shorted condition and shuts itself off?  This would not explain why it appears to power back on when the remote signal is removed, unless there is another problem... try to power the amp with all speakers disconnected from it and see what happens.

Ok guy's, I took the amp and tried it in another car. Guess what, it works.  Now I went back to check my radio out and there is no power on the remote turn on.  Now what would be the problem with my receiver? It's a pioneer deh 235.  I guess it was causeing the amp to act crazy. But when I checked it out with my meter it showed +12 volts, now it shows nothing. Man this makes me mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Whats going on ?????????????                  Thank's Jonafer

If the Pioneer's wiring harness contains an inline fuse on the remote turn-on wire, continuity check it the verify that the fuse is not blown.

Sounds like you have a defective head unit, or there are lots of loose connections.  Check for bad crimps in your wire harness.
