porsche cayenne aftermarket audio?

I just recieved the porsche cayenne turbo with the PCM integrated navigation - cd changer - audio all in one big screen. I REALLY want to add xm or sirius or both to the system but no one will touch this system. Also, the navigation book says that this screen in the dash is compatible with (die video). There is also a (video) button on the screen that when you push it it reads (not available). I was wondering if anyone knows how to make that a DVD player or PS2/XBOX. The screen is fully color and video because of the porsche crest that comes up on the screen when you turn the vehicle on. Definitely a TV screen. I live in Florida but am willing to drive anywhere ... almost ... to get this thing with XM and/or DVD. Please pass on any info if you have worked on one of these things. Thanks, Keith Vanover

I'm surprised that they didn't offer satellite radio as an option when you bought the vehicle.  I wonder if it'll be the same for the similar VW toureg that just came out?

Anyways, the only thing I can think of that might work would be something like this adapter AVElectronic.  It basically adds the ability to hook up composite video sources to the navigation screen, and then the audio plays through the built-in fm modulator. Technically if your vehicle were compatible with one of the biltzsafe or peripheral auxilliary input adapters (I doubt it is) then you could bypass the fm modulated audio connection and do a direct connection for slightly higher audio quality.

Anyways, send them an email explaining your situation and they will respond ASAP.  I emailed them a while ago about using the stock navigation screen in my on-order Infiniti G35 and they said that for my vehicle, although it's not a completely plug and play solution, only one wire has to be hooked up.  they've always been very quick to answer any and all of my questions so you might want to see what they have to say.  Needless to say as soon as i get the car this will be one of the first things to go in it

oh yea and they will install it for you if you're in the atlanta area, but supposedly these installers have done their systems before and so you should be able to get it done at one of these places too.

destindui, I work at a shop in Atlanta, GA and we have installed XM, and handsfree phone kits on 5 of the Cayenne's. So far none of our customers have been interested in the video integration. I do know that the reason a lot of shops won't touch it is because of all the digital databus and the entire vehicle computer integration including the source unit. It is a very complex (and expensive) setup and most shops don't want that kind of risk. Our shop specializes in exotic and high end automobiles, we have done a lot of installs for athletes and celebrities and can even arrange for shipping of your vehicle. If the Nav system in your Cayenne is like the one in the 911's we already have the part necessary to do the video integration. If you are interested post me back and I will send you my contact info.
