Hi,
I have read the various articles relating to Power in I.C.E setups, but, I just want to hear some first hand advice;
I have 2 Amps, 1 @350 Watt (2Ch) and 1 |@ 440Watt (4Ch), the 2 Ch feeds the subs and the 4Ch feeds the speakers.
Now I have built an Amp rack that sits in the front boot of a MR2, so my main Power connecter from the batt (behind amp rack) to the rack itself is only approx 3 to 4 ft, that goes to a 2 way distribution block (30 Amp Fused) which then feeds the Amps. Forgot to mention from Sitting between Batt and Dist block is a 60Amp fuse (last nights advice).
I have used 8Awg Cable purchased from Maplins (the fancy stuff), given my wattage and the minimal length of the power cable, do you think 8Awg will suffice. I have no intention of having the system blasting, purely my OWN listening pleasure.
Any advice is really welcome.
Graeme
check your amp manuals and see what their bottom end recommendation it. i would go at least 2 guage from the batt to distubiton and then the gauge the manufacture recommends
