hey guys i just installed a Alpine CDA-7893 in my girls 91 ford probe. I had just pulled it out of my car and everything was working. however when i hooked it up to her car using the wiring harness i get sound from the radio but when you change the source to the cd player it plays but no sound comes from the speakers.. but like i said the radio plays fine. any ideas or suggestions?? thanks

sounds like there's a factory amplifier in her car and you have the alpine's solid blue power antenna wire hooked up to the factory amp turn-on.  You should instead hook up the wire in the alpine's harness that is solid blue with a white stripe.

Did you use a wiring harness (like the Metra 70-5007) when you installed it?

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
