I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee, and the speaker in the left front door panel isn't working. Is this a common problem? In any event, I want to remove the door panel to get at the speaker, but I am having an impossible time with it. I have manual windows and door locks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

First thing make sure you remove the window crank handle thingy. It's held on with a horseshoe-shaped metal clip thing and usually a hook tool works best.
Then just follow these directions, they are from the Scosche Autosound guide thingy:
FRONT DOOR SPEAKER INSTALLATION:
NOTE: THE FACTORY SPEAKER PROVISION IS FOR 51/4" 2-HOLE
SPEAKERS.
1. EXTRACT (1) SCREW FROM THE BACK OF THE DOOR RELEASE TRIM CUP
2. EXTRACT (1) SCREW FROM ARMREST POCKET.
3. EXTRACT (1) BOLT FROM UNDER ARMREST.
4. USE A PANEL REMOVAL TOOL TO RELEASE FASTENERS FROM AROUND
THE PERIMETER OF THE DOOR PANEL.
5. UNPLUG ANY ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS FROM DOOR PANEL, UNHOOK
METAL CONTROL RODS, AND REMOVE PANEL.
6. EXTRACT (2) SCREWS HOLDING SPEAKER IN PLACE, UNPLUG AND
REMOVE.
