I want to install a new head unit in my 97' volkswagon jetta. I have a cd changer in the trunk and I wanted to see if there was a way to keep the changer hooked up. I am putting in a Kenwood KDC-416s which has a input for an external cd changer. Could I utilize this input or will I have to scrap the changer?

I believe that changer is made by Clarion and could be used with an aftermarket Clarion head unit, but definitely not a Kenwood.  They make adapters that let you hook up an aftermarket CD changer to a factory head unit, but not the other way around.
