My brother-in-law had a problem with that with his Rockford Fosgate amp. His problem ended up being a short in the power wire to the amp. Just something to think about.

Need some more info. Dose it happen when ever he attaches the power cable or fuse? Or dose it blow the fuse when you play tunes? Also what fuse is it the one at the battery or the one on the amp, and has it ever worked correctly?

plug in power wires, it blew out. then replace fuse, sparks and blown into pieces.

Could be many things but here are a few to start with

1) The insulation on one of the + power wires is torn, cracked or punctured and is coming in contact with a ground (any metal surface)

2) The power wires on you amp are reversed, Make sure you are connecting the + to the +terminal and the - to the - terminal.

3) At the terminal on the amp strands of the power or remote wire are coming in contact with the amp or a ground source

4) The amp has an internal short.
Did the setup ever work correctly?
