That sub is 3000 watts rms (the AWT12X is 2000 watts rms). If the guys at the shop are telling you that the Memphis 1000D is sufficient then I think you need to find a more reputable shop.

I agree bberman. I posted my original response on the other thread, and stated the same thing about that sub (2ohm DVC and 3000RMS). 2400 watts would still be underpowing the sub, but it would be a lot better then only 1000 watts.
Not to mention that you don't want to use 2 seperate amps going to the same sub (unless the amps are specifically designed to be combined for 1 output like several Kicker models). Even though you have a DVC sub, Independant Wiring is not a good idea with 1 amp, let alone 2 different ones. You can read more about it here from JL Audio's DVC Tutorial/FAQ------------- Squirrel

97neon before you build the enclosure I would 1st off get the proper amp to power it, because you’re going to end up damaging the sub. 2nd I would suggest that before you build an fiberglass enclosure that you build a couple of different size (ported and sealed ) test enclosures and see which one sounds best. Also move the enclosure around the trunk and face the box different ways to see where you get optimal sound. Here are the recommended box specs https://www.audiobahninc.com/tech/2002boxspecs.pdf (scroll down to the AWT15X, Also instead of 0.75 sealed I would suggest 1.0 cu/ft sealed)

the memphis amp is 1100 watts RMS, i know it not as much as i need, i plan on buying 2 of them, im ot ognna use 2 different amps, i will use 2 1000d's, but for now i will have to use a 1000d, that all i can afford right now, and i fdamage the sub, i get a new one for free form my shop i go to, im sure it won;t damage it, i think 1100 watts rms is enough for now,

We're just trying to help. If you don't want to take our advice then that's your call. But I must stress again that even though the amps are the same model, they are still 2 seperate amps. And you do not want to use 2 seperate amps on 1 DVC sub. You will damage the sub. Have your shop bench test both amps and see if they produce identical output. I would be very suprised if they do.
You will be able to make it work in the short term, but in the long term your system will fail (meaning your equipment will become damaged) due to poor planning. ------------- Squirrel

thanks for the help, not trying to be rude or anything, just they said if i were to use 2 it owuld be alright, i know a lot of people that use 2 amps, and they said the 1 memphis amp would be enough, so i figured it would be fine, if i wanted the memphis mojo amp, which is the one i owuld have to buy, that owuld cost me like 2000 canadian
