You will have to find some one that has done that to find out. IMO i think that, that is correct to a certain extent.

Are you talking about porting the trunk which gives you the same effect as putting down the back seat? Or are you talking about actually porting the trunk through the rear seat?

I have seen it done where the rear seat has an arm rest in the center that folds down. When the armrest is in the down position the trunk is vented and when it’s upright the vent is closed. Is that what you’re looking for?  Or are you asking about putting an actual vent through the back of the seat cushions? But back to your original question yes it dose increase the sound level inside the cab since it allows the trunk to breathe. However I would suggest that instead of porting it through the rear seat that you port it through the rear deck.

I'm wondering the same thing as bberman1. I know some people remove the rear speakers and port through there. I agree with bberman1 that it will increase the SPL though. It would like going from a sealed box to a ported box.
