start by dynamatting everything...and then get bags of polyfill and poke a small hole in them let the air out and shove them into any space you can and they will expand so you will have a deadened car...Then make your own kicks using one of the tutorials we have here. JL and Alpine are also very clean amps so use those

Do you plan on competing or is this just for personal use?

That Head unit is a good start they put out some excellent sound quality. But how much are you looking to spend on the whole setup?

The Thunderbird uses 4x6 speakers as it's speaker and I would ditch those and fabricate kick panels for a set of 6 1/2" components and then mount the tweeters in the A pillars about 6" from the dash. This will enhance your imaging in the front stage. You should be able to get a decent SQ set up with $ 2000.00, but don't skimp out on cheap interconnects because it will hurt you in the end. Make sure that you have high quality RCA's and proper gauge wire for amplifiers and speakers.

I have worked on the Thunderbirds before and with enough knowledge and tools, anything is possible. 6 1/2" speakers will fit in there ( just have to move some stuff around ).

Your front stage and front component placement/angles are the most important thing to really lookinto for what you are after . One of the most common things guys do is buy all this expensive equiptment but skimp on deading the vehicle first. I would recomend eather Xtteam dynamat or FAT mat in bulk packs and cover the whloe vehicle. This is time consuming but very rewarding in performance you receve out of your system and no rattles from the car. Go with q forms kicks with 6.5 componets using a soft dome tweet. Use polly fill behind the speaker or make a fibeglass baffle for them. You can get the Q forms cheep brand new pair on e bay for $100.  $2000 system will sound great if you play your cards right it takes time.
