I am building a box for two audiabahn 12" subs. Is it true that they will sound better firing down or away from the front? I’m putting them in a S10 extra cab. If firing down how far from the floor should the sub be? Also what is filling the box with polyester fiberfill do for it. The book that came with the sub said in the specifications fill 50%. Should I fill it 50% or is this optional. I have build several boxes and never filled them. Will it increase the quality of the sound or what??

As far as positioning of the subs, I don't have any suggestions except that if it is possible, to just experiment with different positions until you find what works best in the vehicle.  As for the polyfill, when used in sealed boxes it will cause the speaker to perform as if it was in a larger box, providing a little more well rounded response.  I honestly have never noticed a signifigant difference either way, but if they suggest it, I'm assuming they have a reason to believe it will help the performance.
