i was wondering where the best place to place a cd player.  the original radio was only a AM radio.  the major thing is that i need to rewire all the speaker and power, to the cd player.  so the major thing is where to place it.

any ideas would be great.  thanx

If you don't have an opening that is big enough (or could be modified to be big enough) for a standard aftermarket stereo then you can always use one of the universal underdash shrouds.  When properly mounted they work pretty well at giving you a nice secure mounting location for the stereo.

Your best bet is to take out that radio and, as esmith suggested, trim the opening as needed to allow the cd player to fit. That way all your wire is already right where you need it. If you need a diagram of which color wires in your vehicle go where, let us know.

Well, dont know anything about that car but i had a 77 El Camino and I had a cd player installed in it. They had to cut out the opening for it but it went in just fine and looked cool to boot.

You should just need a dash kit like this one.  The wiring harness should be this one, but as you'll notice it does not have a constant power wire connection so you'll have to get that via a fused wire running straight to the positive battery terminal.

If your factory plugs are no longer intact then you can use the wiring info we have here on the12volt.com as a reference.  Just make sure you verify all the wires with a multimeter before making your final connections.
