I need to know how to remove the grills from the back panel in a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT.  These speakers are 6X9's and for some reason can't be lifted up like typical grills.  Thanks in advance for any help.  Scott

remove rear seat bottom cushion and upper cushions.

2. remove (3) panel fasteners from front edge of rear deck.

3. lift rear deck up in the middle to release side edges from

and remove rear deck.

4. extract (4) screws holding speaker, unplug and remove

speaker.

Thanks.  It took me about 1/2 hour to do the job.

How about the front speakers.  The grills are similar because they are attached to the door panel.

Any help would be appreciated.

Glad to hear you got the back ones out okay.  Here's the info I have for the front doors:

1. EXTRACT (2) COVER CAPS AND (2) T-27 TORX BOLTS FROM THE DOOR

PULL.

2. UNSNAP POWER SWITCH PANEL FROM LOWER REAR EDGE FIRST,

UNPLUG, LIFT AWAY AND REMOVE.

3. PULL DOOR HANDLE AS IF TO OPEN DOOR AND EXTRACT SCREW FROM

THAT CAVITY.

4. UNSNAP MIRROR COVER TRIANGLE AT TOP FRONT EDGE OF DOOR

PANEL.

5. USING A PANEL REMOVAL TOOL PRY OUTWARD AROUND THE EDGES OF

THE DOOR PANEL TO RELEASE POP FASTENERS, LIFT PANEL UP AND

AWAY TO REMOVE.

6. EXTRACT (4) SCREWS HOLDING SPEAKER, UNPLUG AND REMOVE

SPEAKER.
