I have a bad battery wire i found when installing my girlfriend's new stereo...the ignition wire's fine, reads around 12v and the ground's fine, but the battery wire isn't showing squat. Her car's a 1996 Saturn SC2, and i was wondering where the best place is to run a 12 constant battery wire, preferably not fromt he battery itself. Thanks for you help!

Are there any other electrical problems with the car? Also have you checked the radios fuses? Did the old radio work?

Yea it's probably just a blown fuse.  Continuity-check all of them with a multimeter to verify none are blown.

Did you use a wiring harness for the wiring?

In the igniton switch harness either of the 2 red wires should be a constant power connection, but for obvious reasons you should definitely check this with a meter first.  Even so, I'd still recommend you run a fused wire directly to the battery instead; most likely the wires in the ignition harness will not be able to handle the current required by the stereo.  What kind of stereo is it though (brand, model#)?
