Hey guys, I have a 700 watt amp, but I have ti tri-wired so its pushing out about 1000 watts. I am blowing my power line fuses left and right. They are rated at 50 amps, I think I should get a higher number, like 80-90, would that be good enough? or should i go with a 100?

Ok guys, I have a Rockford Fosgate 700s Amplifier. It's a 2 channel amplifier. I am running three MTX Thunder6000 10" subwoofers, rated at 4 ohms each. I have a Rockford Fosgate 4 gauge wiring kit, and a Rockford Fosgate 1 Farad Capacitor. The wiring kit came with a 50 amp fuse, which blew a long time ago, but I have been replacing with 50 amp fuses all the time. Anyhow, I have three subs, one connected the the left channel, one connected to the right channel, and the third is bridged. I have 4 gauge wire for the cap and all grounds too. I am thinking about upping the fuses to at least 80 and bumping my ground up to 2 or 0/1 gauge wire. If you could think of anything else, let me know, before I go spend money on something I don't need. Thanks.

@ 700 watts that amp will pull 55 amps of current. I would suggest that you go to a 60 amp fuse and you should be okay.

well if your fuses are blowing out at the suggested amp rate then your amplifier isn't capable of handling the way you're wiring it. This might be a short cut to a fire hazard, or damaging your unit(s). *paw print* ------------- *paw print*

Rockford recommends a 60-amp fuse for this amp.

With the way he wired the subs, wouldnt that one sub be doin alot more than the other two??? Just an observation kinda off subject.

Hey guys, I got a 100 amp fuse, and its not blowing anymore, but I got rid of one sub. So, until I can get some new subs, I am going to be running two MTX thunder6000s in a Bandpass box. I'll get about 125 db, so, it'll keep me grinning until i get all my new equipment. Thanks.
