Ok I need help one more time as I'm VERY torn on a deck. I've got about 250 to 260 to spend...what I'm looking for is a deck with good Sound Quality and GREAT looks...I'm putting in a 4 channel amp and Mono Sub Amp. I DEFINATELY want 3 preouts...I'll look on ebay for it, but I need some help! Also I do want something with MP3 cababilities! I had a JVC KD-LH2000 before and I can get one again, but I'd like to see what else is out there. Thanks for the help!

Try Rockford's or Pioneer decks. They are nice looking decks and we have never had any problems with them.

I've actually been looking at RF headunits lately too. The RFX9220G, RFX9320G, or RFX9420.

The RFX9220G and RFX9320G have 3 sets of 5v RCA preouts, the RFX9420 has 3 sets of 8v RCA preouts.

What do you do if you have amps that have a minimum input sensitivity of 4v or 6v? I have 2 Kenwood KAC-649S amps running my front and rear coaxials and are 4v min sensitivity, and an RF Power 1000bd running my subs and is 6v min sensitivity.

You won't have any problems if the input sensitivity is a MIN of 4 V. If the MAX is 4 V then your gain control for the amp is pretty much limited to the output of the HU. This is good & bad because the minimum level of output will be higher, but your amp will not have to work as hard either.

Thx Jeff.
If I'm not mistaken, my 1000bd is 250mV - 6V (I think that translates .25V - 6V), and my KAC-649S's are 200mV - 4V (.2V - 4V)

Hopefully I didn't mix the min's and max's up, but I think it was the higher whole number is the min sensitivity.

Neither one of those 2 have an MP3 deck that looks good..was thinking Alpine, Kenwood, or JVC.

personally I love the way this one looks; I know a lot of people don't like the Pioneer's with the OEL display which is why I was suggesting  this one cuz it looks completely different from the rest of their head units.

This one is alot better of an alpine. It has no internal amp but since you are using amps already you have nothing to worry about

Ok, I've narrowed down my search to 3 units, need all of your opinions PLEASE!
Alpine CDA-7995 Interested in this due to no internal amp, since I'll have 4 channel won't need internal.

JVC Kd-LH2000 This is the head unit I had before my car was broken into, nice deck, 2 turn offs 2v preouts(is more power in the preouts better for more power?) Looks alot like everyother deck out there.

Panasonic CQ- DFX983U I like this deck for the sake of no buttons, I think it looks REALLY sleek in the fact it has no buttons on the bottom. Here is a pic of the area it's going in, with the JVC in the dash..posted_image

I really need help as I'm VERY torn between these decks. I plan to purchase one of these on sunday so your help is appreciated. I'm looking for the pros and cons as I've only ever dealt with JVC,(cuz nobody around here sells anything higher end than that!) Thanks for the help.

If it were up to me I would go with the Panasonic. I like the MP3/WMA , 5v preout and the display is cool. And yes the higher the voltage the hotter the signal to your amps.

yeah don't get the jvc. 2 volts is not alot. The more power the less work your amp has to do. The alpine cd players are a good choice. I have not had a problem with them but I have never messed with a Panasonic so I can't tell you which is better. I like alpine and thats what I would go with but its up to you.Plus you save 50 dollars on it and that cd player was 400 now its on sale so you can't beat it

Ok everyone...Need one last help from you all. Panasonic 983?? Downside I see...only has treble and bass control. Upside, less buttons, CRAZY looks! Alpine 7998?? Downside kinda big, green buttons.Upside Lots of features! lots of control over highs and mids, plus good bass control. Last Jvc Kd-Lh3150?? Downside, my buddy has one probs with keeping bass out of highs and mids, could be his amp we're checkin that, tons of time to set up. Upside multicolor options! make ur own screensavers.
your help in this is appreciated, I'm just really torn, need ur opinons to help me. I am leaning towards alpine, so help me out. Thanks.

Sorry I changed and went back to the idea of the alpine 7995...same upsides and downsides as the 7998.

Definately go with the Panasonic

I got the 983 and its freakin awesome with the black chrome and blue lcd. Plus the Lcd will go great with your painted trim. if you can change your gauge lights to blue too, ur set.

Well everyone, just for your info, I decided on the 983 and purchased it tonight. After hearing an alpine 7897 and the 983, I like the sound of the 983, plus the graphics are the BEST!!! My downsides were explained to me by the stereo shop near me, even without the mid control on the deck, my amp will be able to control that well enough I won't need it on the deck. Thanks for all the advice, it was GREATLY appreciated!
