i have 4 kenwood excelon amps, 2-201t, 301t, 501f and i want to paint them to match my interior, my question is; will this allow the proper heat dissapation? the amps all have internal cooling fans,but i want to make sure i don't destroy anything.

go with hi temp paint...like engine block paint. i think a couple cans would do it easy.

the kicker kx amps allow you to paint the exterior, and they also produce a reasonable amount of heat....Like what Maxst said, you should be able to use some hi-temp stuff and it would work just fine

Just for the record all the heat dissapation occurs internally where the mosfets and other components are pressed onto a large block of metal called the heat sink usually seperated by either hi temp grease or heat pads and then if it produces enough heat it is then spread throughout the amp. So all in all the only reason to use a hi-temp paint would be for chipping or peeling but i have had great luck using plain old automotive paint. not just in a can paint but actual PPG automotive paint i sprayed my JL 1000.1's with and they produce some heat but I am pushing the limits on them.
