Wiring 4 subs

Hey

          I've got 4, 4 ohm subs and have a 4 channel amplifier.  How would I go about wiring them up , would like to pull a 2 ohm load if at all possible.  Thanks for any help.

Are you saying run 2 subs in parallel + to +, - to -, then running it bridged, i.e. ch 1 + ch 2 -.  In most A/B amps the amplifier would go into protect.  If these drivers were 4Ohm SVC's.

 If an amplifier is 2ohm stable it does not matter what class it is it will work.  If you run 4 svc subs off one amplifier wiring 2 subs per channel (parralel) this will give you a 2ohm load.By the way the amp and sub combo,have you matched them for performance or is this something that you have whacked together (no offence). It just seems odd to run 4 subs off a 4 channel amp, it would need to be  quite a large amplifier even to run the cheapest of subs.Most subs ( a generalisation i know) really do need around 100wrms min to run affectively.If  u are after performance you may be better off to run just 2 subs @ 4ohm, just something to think about.

Oops i forget to mention that a 4channel amp a/b class can generally only be run in stereo and "most" will handle a 2ohm load. sorry bout that.

Im not sure you can wire it effectively on a four channel. sell the 4 channel, go online get a JBL amp...either 1200.1 or 600.1, they are 1 ohm stable and will power it right in one of the above wirings.

Whats the power rateings for the subs...and are they the same brand model?

then we can pick a better amp to suit to the powers power rating.
