Hey guys, I just installed the new system and I notice there's a whining noise coming from the right side of the car but I couldn't make it out if it's coming from the front right speaker. At the time, the system was OFF. This only happen when the car is in motion. Whenever I accel. I hear the noise. I'm not sure what's problem. If it's the alternator making noise, how come it didn't make that noise before i put in the system?

Thanks for your inputs.

Do you have air conditioning in the vehicle ? What year, make & model. Check to see if this noise is there if you turn off all the fans, AC & other electronic equipment . Please post your results.

thanks radioactive, I ran into that website before.

Velocity motors - it's a 2003 Civic EX. yes I turned of the AC at the time I was trying to trouble shoot. It didn't make a different.

If I have the stereo system OFF, that mean the sound can't just play on my speaker. It must be the alternator making noise. I only connect one 4 gawg main power line with 80Amp fuse in the line. My system is 500/1 and 300/2 both JL. Not that much of power compare to other system ppl put in their car.

Could the whining noise go away after I don't play the stereo system for a while for the alternator catch up the charging? I did test out the stereo system w/o turning on the car.

Do your amps turn off when you turn the deck off, or are they always on....because ive seen your problem happen if the amps are left on. Otherwise you might have to start quecking for any shorts in the wires and maybe even repositon ceratin ones, as there are a lot of magnetic fields created in newer cars that can produce those kind of sounds. I just recently had a problem like that with a 2000 and something Civic and it seemed that the problem was due to the fact that the stock speakers had plastic baskets where as the aftermarkets were metal, and putting a rubber gasket between the car metal and speak (insulating it) helped reduce the problem. Do you have power windows, because i think that is where my experienced problem was created.

My system is controlled by an Relay. This relay will turn on the amps, the amp rack fans. I use the head-unit remote wire to turn on the relay. To answer your question, no everything is off when the headunit is off.
The sound didnt come from the speakers either.

I'm not sure how this could produce whining noise when my audio system is OFF. And what do you mean power windows could cause this problem? please explain more

I am almost 100% sure that the power window wires created a magnetic field that was strong enough to cause sounds to be producedthrough the speaker, but if your whin is Not coming from the speak,,,Im not sure what to say...Ive never had a whin not come through the speakerposted_image

I think the problem when away. I think the battery was running low and the lil alternator was working so hard to recharge the system. I drove the car on the highway for over 1/2 hr with only AC running -NO MUSIC. Now the noise went away. Thanks for your inputs

I'm back. The problem came back. I have no clue what's going on. Is it possible that the powerwindow can generate sound thru my speaker when the system is off? If so...anything i can do?
