i need  to get a good amp for my newly aquired set of alpine R12's,  500w Rms on each sub, so 1000w - 1200w would be preferable hopefully staying under $500

is the  Mono Block JBL 1200.1 Watt Power Amplifier the same sort of power   Alpine MRD-M500 (class D)  ?

i am also looking for a good amp that will power from 500wtt to 1000wtt (for 15" alpine)

alpine dealer check my amp alpine MRV-T757 .. he said just enuff and just okie to run the sub.. but i heard  this alpine MRD M500 is really good amp, better than the Alpine MRV1507....

if it just about the same i rather buy the JBL amp... pretty sure i can get it cheaper

skyRyder, do you have any idea how much you would be looking at for one of those jbl's here in oz cause i'm looking into getting a JBL 600.1 but can't get my hands on them anywhere.... mind you i haven't gotten to the stage of going out and seeing if somewhere can order one in for me.

A good deal would be $250-280 on the bp1200.1

The main difference between the JBL BP1200.1 and BPX1100.1 is the BP series are Mono amps and the BPX series is not (it's not necessarily a Class A/B, but it's deffinately not a Class D Mono amp either). The BPX1100.1 is a 2-channel amp, where as the BP1200.1 is a Mono amp that happens to have 2 sets of terminals (for ease of wiring multiple subs with an internal bridge).

The other major difference is the price. MSRP on the BPX1100.1 is $1,099.95 where as MSRP on the BP1200.1 is $549.95 That's a BIG difference

IMO, I would go with the BP1200.1 if you're looking to save some greenbacks.

Nedgeworth, I hate to say it but try eBay or an eBay store like Ike Sound if you really want a BP600.1 amp. Even though they are still listed on JBL's site, not too many companies seem to carry them in stock.
