i got a 400 watt 8 gauge wiring kit for my new sub and amp but it did not come with speaker wire to attatche the sub to the amp, if my sub is going to be handling 400 watts rms what gauge speaker wire will i need to connect the sub to the amp.  your help is appreciated.

You will be fine with anything from 10 gauge to 16g. I would lean more towards using 12 but it depends on what sort of connections your sub has.

12 is a pretty good size.

I would Use 10 or 12 gauge size.....

just to jump on the bandwagon, i almost always use 12 gauge. that would be totally sufficient.

If you have 600 watts rms running to a sub, woluld 12 ga still be sufficent enough?
